London, one of the world’s most famous and ancient cities, is a destination full of beauty and adventure. For me, going to this amazing city was a dream come true. It was an exciting journey from Bangladesh to London, and the whole event will never be forgotten. I’ll describe my journey, my explorations, my meals, and my experiences taking in the allure of this energetic city in this blog.🫰🌟

Traveling from Bangladesh to London 🌍✈️

Traveling from Bangladesh to London required a lot of planning and organization. First, I had to catch a flight with Emirates Airlines from Dhaka after initially traveling from Chattogram. I had to change planes to Emirates at Dubai and then flew to London. If tickets were booked online, a round trip ticket and a visa cost around BDT 1 – 1.5 lakh. Rent a car, purchase travel insurance, get basic necessities, and currency exchange were additional expenditures.A huge step into my planning was to send all the required documentation to the UK embassy for the visa.

The idea of stepping onto the runway in London made me quite giddy. The breeze was slightly cool and inhaling fresh air felt amazing. First thing I did was take a bus from Heathrow airport to my hotel, then I started using the famous Tube train system of London. When in London, getting an Oyster card is a must as it makes commutation through buses, trains and other transport systems far easier.

Examining London’s Famous Sites 🏰🎡

I started my first day of London exploration in Westminster. The magnificence of Westminster Abbey and Big Ben, two historically significant sites, astounded me. I rode the London Eye, which provides breathtaking panoramic views of the city, and strolled along the banks of the River Thames.

After that, I went to the Tower Bridge and took a terrifying ghost tour of the ancient Tower of London! A visit to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre took me back to the era of literary excellence, and the British Museum’s amazing displays left me speechless.

Walking around Hyde Park, where I could take in the serene lake, the amusing swans, and the chats with tourists from over the globe, was one of my favorite experiences. A genuine London custom, I also saw the Changing of the Guards Ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Every area of London has an own appeal that skillfully combines modernism, culture, and history.

London Food Adventures 🍔🍛

One of the enjoyable things I did during my stay in London was visiting and tasting the culinary delights the city has to offer. On my first day, I feasted on the classic fish and chips; they were luscious and crispy. I was already at ease after eating my food from Bangladeshi and Indian eateries. Through Brick Lane, I got to know the bustling Bangladeshi community who were serving authentic curry. It was a common American breakfast consisting of bread, grilled tomatoes, sausages, fried eggs, and beans. While I was scrolling through the many stands and stalls at Borough Market, I tried kebabs from Turkey to the Thai noodles. When I went to a Bangladeshi restaurant, I was served ilish bhapa (steamed hilsa fish) with fragrant polao to remedy my homesickness for traditional flavors.

How Did London Feel?✨💂‍♂️

London seemed to be a fusion of the past and present. I was impressed by its famous sites, varied culture, and creative atmosphere. I felt incredibly happy and at ease as I was strolling through the nighttime streets that were illuminated or when I was standing by the Thames and taking in the city skyline.

Every second I spent in London left me with a memory that will stay. I’m excited to return and discover even more of its boundless splendor.

I would advise anyone considering a trip to London to plan ahead and take full advantage of this captivating city. 🌟
